NOCTURNAL RITES Bassist: Songwriting For New Album 'Is Going Really Well'
June 24, 2006Bassist Nils Eriksson of the Swedish melodic metallers NOCTURNAL RITES has posted the following message on the band's official web site:
"Songwriting is going really well. At this point we have quite an impressive bunch of roughly schetched out songs, for being us (this early on in the writing process). Some more complete than others. But the album is slowly taking shape at least. Like always it sounds like us, probably even a bit more than usual, whatever that means. Some heavy shit, some slow, some evil, some country, some pop...you know what I mean."
NOCTURNAL RITES' latest album, "Grand Illusion", was released in September 2005 via Century Media Records. The follow-up to 2004's "New World Messiah" was recorded and mixed at Toontrack Studio in Umeå, Sweden and features guest appearances by Stefan Elmgren (HAMMERFALL),Jens Johansson (STRATOVARIUS),Henrik Danhage (EVERGREY),Kristoffer W. Olivius (NAGLFAR) and the Swedish cross-country skiing world champion, Per Elofsson.
